Senator Ted Cruz Criticizes Biden Administration's Policy; Victory in Ukraine and Agreement with Iran Are Incompatible

Republican Senator Ted Cruz on Wednesday, May 17, openly criticized President Joe Biden's doctrine regarding Iran and Russia at the Hudson Institute, condemning the funding of Iran and Russia amid Russia's invasion of Ukraine. He added, 'While Democrats now proudly wear the Ukrainian flag pin on their lapels, the administration has repeatedly refused to provide lethal weapons to give Ukraine an advantage in the war, while simultaneously pouring billions into Iran, financing both sides of the conflict.' Cruz elaborated that these dollars are used to build drones that the Russians use to kill Ukrainians, saying, 'This is madness; when it comes to the war in Ukraine, the Biden administration, with the silence of the state media, is heavily financing both sides of the war.' He emphasized, 'If you want to see Russia defeated in Ukraine, and if you want Putin to fail in Ukraine, one of the most important steps we can take to achieve this is to stop and eliminate the cooperation between Russia and Iran, especially in the production of drones that kill Ukrainian soldiers. We must prevent Joe Biden from supporting both sides of the war in Ukraine.'
