This policy explains how artesh.com ("Artesh", "we", "us") handles data. Our approach is simple: we collect as little as possible, we never sell it, and we do not build profiles of readers.

1. What we collect

Automatically, when you visit:

• Standard server and security logs — IP address, browser/user-agent, pages requested, timestamps, referrer. These are generated by our hosting and our CDN/security provider (Cloudflare) and are used to serve the site, prevent abuse, and defend against attacks.
• Aggregate, non-identifying usage statistics.

Only if you give it to us:

• Email address — if you subscribe to the briefing.
• Anything you send us — messages, tips, or corrections, including any contact details you choose to include.

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, sensitive personal information you do not want us to hold.

2. Cookies

We use only what is needed to run the site securely (essential/session and security cookies set by our platform and CDN). We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell data to advertisers. You can block cookies in your browser; core pages will still work.

3. How we use it

• To deliver, secure, and improve the site;
• To send the briefing to subscribers who asked for it;
• To respond to messages, tips, and corrections;
• To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and attacks;
• To comply with valid legal obligations.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.

4. Who processes data for us

We use a small number of service providers strictly to operate the site — hosting, our CDN/security layer (Cloudflare), and email delivery. They process data on our behalf under their own terms and security controls. We do not share your information with anyone else except where required by valid legal process, or where necessary to protect rights and safety.

5. Source and tipster protection

We take this seriously — for many of our readers it is a safety matter, not a preference.

• We ask for the minimum information necessary and encourage you to contact us without identifying yourself.
• We do not publish identifying details of a source without explicit consent.
• We delete tipster contact details once they are no longer needed.
• We cannot guarantee absolute anonymity or the security of any transmission you make to us. If your safety depends on it, use an anonymous channel and do not include details that could identify you. Consider your own risk first.

6. How long we keep it

Subscriber emails: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Messages and tips: only as long as needed for the journalistic purpose, then deleted. Server/security logs: kept for a short period for security and abuse-prevention purposes, then rotated out.

7. Your choices and rights

• Unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by contacting us.
• Access or delete — you can ask what we hold about you and ask us to delete it. Email [email protected].
• Depending on where you live (for example the EEA/UK or California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing, and to object. We honour these requests regardless of where you live, and we will not discriminate against you for making one.

8. International transfers

Artesh is operated using infrastructure that may process and store data in the United States and other countries. By using the site you understand that your information may be processed outside your country of residence.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures, including HTTPS everywhere and a security/CDN layer in front of the site. However, no website or transmission is ever completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where that is the local threshold), and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
