These Terms govern your use of artesh.com ("Artesh", "we", "us"). By using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
1. What Artesh is
Artesh is an independent, non-partisan news and analysis service covering Iran. We publish:
- Translated and summarised third-party reporting, produced with AI assistance and attributed to its original source;
- Automated daily briefings synthesised from that reporting;
- Research dossiers (including our "Follow the Money" series) compiled from primary documents and credible published reporting.
2. Accuracy — no warranty
The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Much of our content is produced with automated translation and AI-assisted analysis, which can and does contain errors, including mistranslation, omission, and misattribution. Machine translation is not a certified translation. Always consult the original source before relying on anything you read here.
3. Not professional advice
Nothing on Artesh is legal, financial, investment, tax, compliance, security, or professional advice, and nothing here is an offer or solicitation to buy or sell anything.
In particular: our sanctions, entity, risk-score and financial content is journalistic research, not a compliance product. It is not a sanctions-screening tool and must not be relied on for know-your-customer, due-diligence, sanctions, export-control, or any regulatory decision. Consult the primary official sources and qualified professionals.
4. Independence and no affiliation
Artesh is not affiliated with, funded by, or acting on behalf of any government, military, intelligence service, political party, or opposition organisation. Coverage of an entity is not endorsement or condemnation of it.
5. How we report allegations
We label claims by evidentiary strength and attribute every claim to a named source. Specifically:
- A sanction or designation (e.g. by OFAC, the UN, or the EU) is an executive or administrative action — it is not a criminal conviction and we do not present it as one.
- An estimate is attributed to the party that made it, with its range and uncertainty.
- An allegation that is disputed, single-sourced, or unproven is labelled as such and attributed — it is reported as an allegation, not as established fact.
Where we report a serious allegation about a named person or entity, we report what a credible source has published and attribute it to that source. Reporting an allegation is not an assertion by Artesh that it is true.
6. Corrections and right of reply
We correct errors promptly. If you are the subject of coverage, or you can show that something we published is inaccurate, contact [email protected] with the specific claim and supporting information. We will review in good faith and, where warranted, correct, update, annotate, or remove the material, and we will publish substantive denials or disputes alongside the claim. This process is available to anyone, free of charge, and is the fastest route to resolving a concern.
7. Third-party content and intellectual property
Copyright in original reporting belongs to its respective owners. We publish translations, summaries and excerpts with attribution and a link to the source, for the purpose of news reporting, commentary and research. All Artesh-created material (briefings, dossiers, compilations, and the site itself) belongs to Artesh.
Copyright complaints: if you believe material on this site infringes your rights, email [email protected] identifying the work, the URL, and your rights in it. We remove or amend properly-substantiated material promptly.
8. Acceptable use
Do not: use the site unlawfully; scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content or run automated access that burdens our infrastructure; attempt to breach, probe, or disrupt the site or its security; misrepresent the site or its content; or use the content to harass, endanger, or target any person.
9. Submissions and tips
If you send us information, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use it for journalistic purposes. Do not send material you are not lawfully entitled to share. Do not send information whose disclosure would endanger you or anyone else. While we take source protection seriously (see our Privacy Policy), we cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality or the security of any transmission. Consider your own safety first.
10. Third-party links
We link to external sites we do not control and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Artesh and anyone associated with it shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business, arising from or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the site or reliance on its content — regardless of the legal theory and even if advised of the possibility.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the site is limited to USD $100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations; in those places, the above apply to the maximum extent permitted.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Artesh from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the site, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
13. Availability
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the site at any time, without notice or liability. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised Terms. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute shall be brought exclusively in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
