15 Positions of ISIS Targeted by US Coalition Forces

The United States Central Command announced on Friday, December 7, that the US military and its allies targeted 15 positions of ISIS in Iraq and Syria over the past three days. According to Reuters, the statement from the US Central Command indicates that out of these airstrikes, 13 were against ISIS forces in Iraq and two others in Syria. The report states that the attacks in Syria have destroyed ISIS militant positions around the cities of Kobani and Aleppo. Kobani, which is predominantly populated by Kurds, has been under siege by ISIS extremist forces for over two months. During this time, several Peshmerga forces have been dispatched to defend the city, which has strengthened the position of Kobani's defenders. The US Central Command also announced that during the attacks on ISIS forces in Iraq, several large military units of ISIS near the cities of Kirkuk, Fallujah, Baiji, Al-Rutbah, and Al-Qaim were destroyed. These attacks also resulted in the destruction of several ISIS vehicles, a bulldozer, bunkers, and a building. Meanwhile, Baghdad, the capital of Iraq and its suburbs, experienced a violent Friday, with bomb explosions and gunfire resulting in the deaths of nine people. The Associated Press reported, citing Iraqi police officials, that the first attack on Friday occurred near a market in the outskirts of Baghdad, leading to the deaths of four people and injuries to nine others. Additionally, a second bomb explosion in northern Baghdad claimed three more victims, and following that, armed men attacked checkpoints in the northern Baghdad area, killing two soldiers. In this context, '910 people' have been killed in US coalition airstrikes in Syria. Iraqi forces have retaken two cities from ISIS in the Diyala province. ISIS has cut off the mobile phone network in Mosul.
