A 20-year-old man from Florida who won $451 million in this week's lottery has opted to take home $282 million and has shared his plans for the money. According to the Associated Press, the Florida Lottery announced on Friday that a man named Shane Missler is the final prize winner of the lottery draw that began ticket sales on January 5. The statement noted that Mr. Missler chose to receive his prize in a single lump sum rather than several annual payments, amounting to approximately $281 million. In a statement, Shane Missler said, 'I am only 20 years old, but I hope to use this money to achieve my dreams, help my family, and serve humanity.' This is the tenth largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history, and the winning ticket was purchased in Port Richey. The store that sold the ticket will also receive a $100,000 bonus. A local newspaper reported that Shane Missler had a big smile on his face when he delivered his winning ticket to the Florida Lottery headquarters on Friday, accompanied by his father and attorney, who issued a statement on his behalf. Mr. Missler stated, 'What I have learned in my short life is that those who have a positive attitude and are honest with themselves will always be rewarded.' He added that he is looking forward to the future. Lottery officials said the money will be handed over to a private foundation that Mr. Missler has established and is a board member of.
