37 ISIS and Al-Qaeda Militants Killed in US Airstrikes in Syria

The US military announced that 37 militants from ISIS and Al-Qaeda were killed in two airstrikes in Syria. According to the United States Army, two of the killed militants were senior commanders of these groups. The Central Command of the US Army, CENTCOM, stated that on Tuesday, October 3, in an attack in northwestern Syria, one of the commanders of the 'Huras al-Din' group, linked to Al-Qaeda, was killed along with eight other militants. This individual was reportedly responsible for overseeing the military operations of this group. CENTCOM also reported another attack that occurred about two weeks ago, describing it as a 'significant blow' to one of ISIS's training camps in central Syria. According to the US Army statement, in this attack, 28 militants, including 'four Syrian commanders,' were killed. The statement from CENTCOM emphasized that this operation reduces ISIS's capabilities to conduct military operations against the interests of the United States and its allies and partners. Currently, about 900 US military personnel, along with several contractors, are present in Syria, with the primary goal of preventing the potential resurgence of the extremist group ISIS.
