60 Rockets and One Drone Fired at Northern Israel; Hezbollah's Infrastructure Targeted by Israeli Forces

Israeli media reported that Hezbollah, the main proxy group of the Iranian government, fired more than 60 rockets and one drone at northern Israel on Saturday, September 24. According to the 'Times of Israel', this is the second day that Hezbollah has targeted the 'Safed' area with its attacks. The group claims to have targeted military bases in the region. The city of Safed, with a population of 38,000, is located 13 kilometers from the Israel-Lebanon border, and unlike many towns and villages in northern Israel, most of its residents have not abandoned their homes despite recent Hezbollah attacks. The first round of rocket attacks by Hezbollah on Saturday occurred at 1 AM, during which five rockets were fired towards the Safed area, triggering warning sirens in northern Israel. The Israeli army stated that some of these rockets were intercepted and destroyed, while others landed in uninhabited areas. The Israeli army added that Hezbollah later fired a total of 55 rockets at northern Israel in two rounds, some of which were intercepted and destroyed, while others hit uninhabited areas. Some of these rockets caused fires in northern Israel. Hezbollah's rocket attacks on Israel have not resulted in any casualties. In a statement, Hezbollah accepted responsibility for the rocket attacks on Saturday, claiming they were in response to Israeli attacks on the group's infrastructure supported by the Islamic Republic on Friday. Shortly after the morning attacks, an Israeli drone strike destroyed a Hezbollah launcher in Lebanon. Another launcher used in the early morning attack was targeted in a subsequent Israeli airstrike. Additionally, the Israeli army targeted a building used by Hezbollah in 'Kafr Rumman' in southern Lebanon. The Israeli army also targeted Hezbollah infrastructure, including two buildings used by Hezbollah members in 'Bleidah' with airstrikes. The Israeli army announced that its air defenses intercepted and destroyed a Hezbollah drone in the city of 'Gornot HaGalil' located in 'Western Galilee' on Saturday morning. This drone attack, for which Hezbollah accepted responsibility, did not result in any casualties. Following the terrorist attack by Hamas on October 7 of last year, Hezbollah unilaterally began its rocket and drone attacks on northern Israel. As a result of these attacks, 26 civilians and 20 Israeli army members have lost their lives so far. Additionally, attacks have been launched from Syrian territory against Israel, which have not resulted in casualties. In contrast, Israeli attacks on the positions of this Iranian proxy group have resulted in the deaths of 440 of its members in Lebanon and Syria. Furthermore, 78 other members of groups affiliated with the Islamic Republic, one Lebanese soldier, and some Lebanese citizens have been killed as a result of these attacks.
