A Baloch Citizen Injured Following 'Random Shooting' by Islamic Republic Border Forces

A Baloch citizen was injured on Wednesday, June 27, due to 'random' gunfire from the Islamic Republic's military forces at the 'Mirjaveh border' in Sistan and Baluchestan province. According to the HRANA news agency, in the early hours of Wednesday, 'the border forces at the Rotak checkpoint fired directly at a vehicle without prior warning,' resulting in injuries to one of the vehicle's occupants. The injured citizen has been identified as Abdulhamid Rigi, a 55-year-old from the city of Mirjaveh. According to reports from Halosh, the military's gunfire at this private vehicle was 'direct and consecutive,' with 'several bullets hitting the vehicle, and one of the occupants was injured by shrapnel from the bullets.' Previously, the Hengaw organization reported that an 18-year-old girl from the village of 'Goyjeh' in the Kakavand region of Noorabad County in Lorestan province was killed on Thursday, June 20, by direct gunfire from a police officer at the 'Cheshmeh Sefid' checkpoint. According to HRANA, in the past year, the Islamic Republic's military forces have shot at least 540 citizens, resulting in the deaths of 129 individuals. Among the 129 citizens killed in the past year due to military gunfire, 29 were fuel carriers and 29 were kolbers (porters). Armed agents of the Islamic Republic, including the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, have targeted hundreds of kolbers and traders in recent decades under the pretext of 'fighting smuggling.' In many cases, relevant authorities in the Islamic Republic respond to complaints and follow-ups from the victims' families by promoting the perpetrators of these shootings instead of holding them accountable and transferring them to other regions of Iran. The approval of the anti-torture law during the reign of Reza Shah and systematic torture in the Islamic Republic have been noted. Hengaw reported the killing of 'an eighteen-year-old girl' by 'direct gunfire' from an officer in Lorestan province. Mona Bakhtiari announced the assassination attempt on her mother, Nahid Shirpich, in prison, calling for the immediate release of her relatives.
