A Conservative Website Reports the Arrest of a Host from a Persian Language Network in Tehran

The website Jahan News, affiliated with Alireza Zakani, a representative from Tehran in the Parliament, claimed that Sabri Hassanpour, spokesperson for the "National Congress of Iranians for the Rescue of Iran" and host of the Persian language network "Simaye Rahai" in the Netherlands, has been arrested in "Tehran". This website quoted "an informed source" whose name and position were not disclosed, stating that Mr. Hassanpour "traveled to Iran under the pretext of visiting his family" and "during his stay in Iran, he visited the cities of Tehran, Ahvaz, Isfahan, and Karaj". The report did not mention the time of Mr. Hassanpour's arrest in "Tehran". Previously, there had been no reports about this host's trip to "Iran". Meanwhile, a news outlet named "Human Rights and Basic Human Rights" published a report after Jahan News's announcement, claiming that Mr. Hassanpour had traveled to "Turkey" to visit his family and was "abducted" in "one of the cities" of this country. This website did not specify the time of Mr. Hassanpour's "abduction" or the city from which he was allegedly "abducted". Mr. Hassanpour's family or close associates have not reacted to these reports. The internet television "Simaye Rahai" aired programs criticizing the Islamic Republic and conducted interviews with government critics. Mr. Hassanpour, who resides in the Netherlands, was previously a member of the "Green Secularists Network".
