A Dutch Woman Wins the 2023 Miss Transgender Queen in Thailand

The 2023 Miss Transgender Queen ceremony was held in Pattaya, Thailand on Saturday night. In this competition, 27-year-old Solange Decker from the Netherlands claimed the crown of Miss Queen 2023. This event is the largest transgender competition in the world. Transgender individuals are those whose gender identity or expression differs from the sex assigned to them at birth. This year, 22 contestants from various countries participated in Thailand. The two finalists were a Dutch contestant and Meloni Monroe from the USA. Solange Decker won this competition, marking the first time someone from the Netherlands has received this award. She told Reuters that everyone is the hero of their own life and must believe in themselves to achieve what they desire. At 27 years old, she hails from Amsterdam, Netherlands. In a video released two years ago, she mentioned that she was born a boy but soon realized that her feelings and spirit were that of a girl, not a boy. Other participants came from Mexico, China, Colombia, Spain, Venezuela, Vietnam, and Singapore. This competition has been held for 17 years. Thailand is one of the countries that grants freedom to the LGBTQ+ community.
