A Human Rights Organization: 10 Women Executed in the Islamic Republic in Five Months

A human rights organization reported: "In the past five months, 10 women have been executed in the prisons of the Islamic Republic." Hengaw Human Rights Organization wrote in a report on Saturday that with the execution of Fatemeh Abdollahi in Nishapur, who had previously been sentenced to death for "premeditated murder," the number of women executed in Iranian prisons since the beginning of this year (less than 5 months) has reached 10. Sara Sadeghi Hamadani, a former cellmate of Parvin Mousavi, stated in an interview with Voice of America that Parvin Mousavi was "innocent" and had been promised freedom. According to her, Parvin Mousavi was suffering from cancer, had no prior history of drug-related offenses, and had denied all charges against her, with prison officials having promised her freedom.
