A Human Rights Organization Expresses Concern Over the Consequences of the Islamic Republic's Conflict with Israel for Political Prisoners and the Public

The Human Rights Campaign in Iran has strongly expressed concern over the human rights implications of the ongoing military conflict and adventures of the Islamic Republic with Israel, particularly for civil activists, political prisoners, and ordinary citizens. This human rights organization emphasized the protection of civilians, stating that any military action that harms civilian populations, workers, and local residents constitutes a violation of the most fundamental principles of international law and humanitarian law. The campaign added that such actions are condemned and that perpetrators must be held accountable, noting that the use of human shields is classified as a war crime, and that governments and military forces are obligated to ensure the security, social services, and welfare of citizens. According to the statement, the Islamic Republic has a dark record of exploiting war and regional crises to suppress civil society, social activists, and create an atmosphere of repression in society. The Human Rights Campaign in Iran further stated that, in this context, the lives of political prisoners, especially those sentenced to death in show trials based on fabricated charges, are in serious danger. In recent years and months, several political prisoners have been sentenced to death, and some of these sentences have been carried out.
