A 'Key Member' of the Quds Force Killed by Israel

According to the Israeli army and Shin Bet, today, Thursday, in a joint operation in the Nasiriyah region of Lebanon, Hossein Mahmoud Morshed al-Johari, a 'key element' of the Quds Force's operational unit (Unit 840), was targeted and killed. According to the statement, al-Johari had played a role in designing and advancing terrorist actions against Israel on the Syria-Lebanon front in recent years and was operating under the command of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The Israeli army and Shin Bet stated that he was involved in terrorist actions directed by the Islamic Republic against Israel and security forces. It further stated that Unit 840, as the operational unit of the Quds Force, is headed by Asghar Bagheri and assisted by Mohammad Reza Ansari, responsible for directing and executing the Islamic Republic's terrorist operations against Israel. The Israeli army and Shin Bet emphasized that any attempt to design terrorist actions by the Islamic Republic and its proxy forces is considered very dangerous and announced that they will continue their actions to eliminate any threats against Israel. Previously, during Israeli attacks in the 12-day war, a number of high-ranking commanders of the IRGC and several key scientists related to the Iranian government's nuclear program were killed, and significant damage was inflicted on military centers and nuclear facilities of the Islamic Republic. In addition to targeting numerous important military, missile, and nuclear sites, Israel also conducted a series of extensive airstrikes against key government repression institutions in the heart of Tehran. Among the targets of these attacks were the headquarters of the special police unit, the Tharallah headquarters, Cyber Police, Basij headquarters, Seyyed al-Shuhada Corps, Alborz Corps, the information protection of the police command, the intelligence headquarters of the police command, ideological command centers of the Islamic Republic, and the information and public security police of the police force. These centers have been directly responsible for repressing Iranian citizens over the years. The Israeli army also targeted the Islamic Republic's state television and the entrance and administrative section of Evin Prison, both of which are considered significant symbols of the Islamic Republic's repression.
