A Local Employee of the Islamic Republic Embassy in Damascus Killed

The spokesperson for the Islamic Republic's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the killing of a local employee of the Islamic Republic's embassy in Damascus. Ismail Baqaei identified the individual as 'Davood Bi-Taraf' and stated that he was killed on December 15 due to gunfire directed at the embassy employee's vehicle. According to Baqaei, the body of this individual has been transferred to Iran. Reports indicate that following the fall of Bashar al-Assad, the Islamic Republic began withdrawing its military and diplomatic personnel from Syria. The withdrawal of the Islamic Republic's military from Syria faced obstacles, ultimately leading to Russian President Vladimir Putin announcing that Russia transferred 4,000 Iranian forces from Syria to Tehran. With Assad's fall, the Islamic Republic's equations in the region have been disrupted, and the repayment of several tens of billions of dollars in claims from the Assad regime remains uncertain. A high-ranking American delegation visited Syria after a 12-year hiatus, coinciding with the cessation of Syrian refinery operations due to the cut-off of Iranian oil exports.
