The Detroit Auto Show, located in the heart of America's automotive industry, is the largest auto show in North America, held annually in January. However, this year's show was predominantly dominated by Japanese and Korean automakers. Companies from these two countries presented their new products in contrast to American companies. One of the most significant products showcased was the new Toyota Camry. This new generation of the vehicle was introduced at the Detroit Auto Show, where it was the fourth best-selling car in the U.S. market in 2016 and the best-selling passenger car. The design of the new Toyota Camry is more exciting and sportier compared to previous models. It is well-known that the Toyota Camry is a soft and economical car, but its biggest criticism has been its dullness, earning it the nickname 'old man's car.' However, with the unveiling of the new model, the narrative has changed somewhat. The new Camry has become wider and lower, giving it a more aggressive appearance and a more exciting driving experience. To enhance handling and steering responsiveness, Toyota has stiffened the springs in the new models so that the car maneuvers better on the road. The new generation of Toyota's best-selling sedan will feature completely new powertrain and transmission systems. The standard version of the car uses a naturally aspirated 2500 cc four-cylinder engine. Instead of using small turbocharged engines, Toyota has opted for a naturally aspirated engine with a longer stroke, higher compression ratio, direct fuel injection, variable cooling system, and Toyota's proprietary valve timing system. The new Camry will also be equipped with a 3500 cc six-cylinder version. In the hybrid version, fuel consumption has significantly decreased to about 4 liters per 100 kilometers. Another important Asian product introduced at the show was the Kia Stinger. The design and engineering of this Korean product took place in Germany, with one of BMW's former senior engineers responsible for designing this new Kia model. This car is a sporty urban sedan that will likely be priced around $40,000. The body design was also done by former Audi chief designer Peter Schreyer. This rear-wheel-drive vehicle uses Kia's new design style known as the 'Tiger Nose.' Kia Motors aims to compete with the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Audi A4 with this product. The base model is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that can produce 255 horsepower and 353 Newton-meters of torque. The more powerful version, named GT, is equipped with a 3300 cc V6 engine that can produce 364 horsepower and 510 Newton-meters of torque using two turbochargers. Alongside Korean and Japanese products, the presence of Asian companies at the Detroit show has become so prominent that a Chinese company now confidently introduces its new product in the heart of America's automotive industry. The Chinese company GAC introduced the Trumpchi GS7, a mid-size SUV, at the Detroit show. This vehicle features a 2.0-liter diesel engine with a turbocharger and a six-speed automatic transmission, all made in China, producing 198 horsepower. Alongside this Chinese SUV, Volkswagen, which is still facing a crisis in the U.S. due to its diesel emissions scandal from last year, introduced its largest SUV named Atlas. This large SUV has a base price of around $30,000. It offers a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 238 horsepower, along with a 3600 cc six-cylinder engine that produces a total of 280 horsepower. An eight-speed automatic transmission is responsible for transferring power from both engines. The German company Mercedes-Benz also announced at the Detroit show that it will produce a 1000-horsepower giant. Only 300 units of this vehicle will be produced, utilizing Formula 1 technology. This model will be the first road car to use the engine and power transmission system from the company's Formula 1 cars, with an estimated price of around $2 million. Jeep also announced at the Detroit show that it will revive several of its legendary products with an investment of $1 billion. The Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer models have been popular worldwide for years and are known in Iran as Jeep Ahoo. With Jeep's investment in producing these new products, approximately 2,000 new jobs will be created in the United States. These two models will be introduced in 2020.
