A Quarter Century with the World's Largest Search Engine; Google Turns 25

Google, the world's largest search engine, celebrated its 25th anniversary on Wednesday, September 27. This popular search engine was launched on September 27, 1998. To commemorate this day, Google featured a special logo on its homepage combining the word 'Google' with the number 25, and also linked a special blog to this logo. The logo transitions from past Google logos to the current one and then to one that incorporates the number 25. Additionally, a shower of colorful confetti celebrating the occasion appears at the top of Google search results. Google started 25 years ago when two Stanford University students, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, conceived the idea of creating an internet search engine. The search engine designed by these two students initially operated under the domain google.stanford.edu on Stanford's private network. This search engine was officially registered on September 15, 1997, under the domain google.com. Over the past 25 years, Google has become one of the most successful and influential companies in the world.
