Abdol Fazl Ghadiani: Ali Khamenei's Record is Dark in Every Respect. Boycotting Elections is an Effective Protest Against the Ruling Regime

Abdol Fazl Ghadiani, a political activist opposing the Islamic Republic, wrote in an article analyzing the current political situation in Iran: "Boycotting elections is an effective protest against the ruling regime." This serious critic of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic added in his article published on the Zeytoon website: "Ali Khamenei's record is dark in every respect, but with the massacre of Fall 1401 and the holding of parliamentary elections in Esfand 1402 in a more disgraceful manner than the presidential elections of 1400 and the parliamentary elections of 1398, he has sullied his record even further." He regarded the "unexpected" death of Ebrahim Raisi as an "opportunity for some individuals" who are trying to exploit the ballot box gap to gain power. Abdol Fazl Ghadiani emphasized that "participating in the show elections controlled entirely by Ali Khamenei will not bring any meaningful change for the nation" and added: "The inefficacy of Ebrahim Raisi's government, the intensification of economic and social crises, changes in the international political scene, and the possibility of a resurgence of the Women, Life, Freedom movement have forced Khamenei to once again resort to elections." He stated that "in fact, the show elections will be held with the aim of completing the purification process and gaining international legitimacy" and predicted that the regime may accept a semi-reformist government to regain its lost legitimacy and advance its policies. This political activist called on all "democracy-seeking forces" to vigorously promote the boycott of the "presidential elections" and advised political, civil, professional, and cultural activists to take advantage of "every opportunity to disavow the show elections." The next elections of the Islamic Republic will be held on the 8th of Tir for the selection of the fourteenth government president. This election, which many consider to be "appointments," was added to the political calendar of the Islamic Republic prematurely following the death of Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash.
