Abulfazl Ghadiani: The Second Wave of the 'Women, Life, Freedom' Movement Will Soon Overthrow Khamenei and His Regime

Abulfazl Ghadiani, a political activist critical of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, states: "Sooner or later, the people in the second wave of the 'blessed and transformative Women, Life, Freedom' movement will overthrow Khamenei and his oppressive regime and replace it with their desired system." This staunch critic of Ali Khamenei, who has been sentenced to prison for his statements about the Supreme Leader, wrote in a note published by the Takim-e Mellat media, referring to the 'Hijab and Chastity' bill: "The mandatory hijab bill is the order of today’s tyrant of Iran, Ali Khamenei, who wants to pass it with the help of his puppet parliament, but its shame and disgrace have already echoed, and its defeat is clear from now on, as free and freedom-seeking women and men will stand against it and thwart the oppressive Khamenei." The political activist further discussed his visit to the prosecutor's office to serve his prison sentence, adding: "On Saturday, July 22, 2023, I headed to the 28th District Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office in Tehran with my personal belongings and necessary medications to go to prison. They suggested that, given my heart condition and physical state, I should request to be sent to forensic medicine. I said, firstly, forensic medicine has repeatedly and completely issued a ruling of non-imprisonment for me; secondly, since I consider the prosecutor's office and revolutionary courts illegal and do not recognize their authority, I will not make a request." He also wrote: "At my lawyer's suggestion, it was decided that the execution judge would inquire from the Evin prosecutor's office regarding the forensic rulings, so the execution of the sentence has been postponed until the inquiry response is received." Ghadiani had previously stated that he considers the revolutionary courts and their rulings illegal based on Articles 156, 172, and 173, but he would be present for the execution of the 'illegal sentence.' This political activist has been sentenced to 10 months in prison by the revolutionary court for 'propaganda against the Islamic Republic.' Political activist Alireza Rajai reacted on July 30 to Ghadiani's readiness to go to prison in a note published in the 'Takim-e Mellat' media, stating: "Abulfazl Ghadiani is the legitimate voice of today’s Iran in confronting the statue of corruption and unrestrained depravity that has attacked our national foundations." He added: "His candid expression, free from flattery, has angered the mercenaries of the absolute rule of the jurist; however, he remains steadfast in his covenant and mocks the hollow and superficial strength of this bankrupt group."
