According to a survey conducted by the website futsalplanet.com, the best futsal players in the world for the year 2003 were selected. According to the Student News Agency of Iran (ISNA), in this survey, Iran's national futsal team ranked sixth among 56 countries participating in the voting. Additionally, Vahid Shamsaei, a valuable player of the Iranian national futsal team, ranked ninth among 80 selected players, while Mohammad Reza Heydarian secured the twenty-second position. Alireza Naseri also ranked thirteenth among 36 goalkeepers present in the voting. In the category of selected futsal coaches for 2003, Mohammad Hassan Ansarifard, head coach of the Iranian national futsal team, achieved the fourteenth position among 50 coaches. It is noteworthy that according to the survey, Javier Lozano, head coach of the Spanish national futsal team, was selected as the best coach of the year, and Luis Amado, goalkeeper of the Spanish national futsal team, was awarded the title of best goalkeeper. Additionally, Adriano Foglia, a player from the Italian national futsal team, was chosen as the best player of the year, and the Italian national futsal team was named the best team of the year.
