Accounts of the Killing of Pouya Molaei Rad; The Islamic Republic's Attempt to Shift Blame

While the killing of Pouya Molaei Rad, the cousin of Kian Pirfalak's mother, by security forces during the celebration of Kian's birthday in the village of Parchestan, Izeh has sparked public outrage, the Islamic Republic is attempting to portray Kian Pirfalak's family as responsible for this incident. Nournews, a media outlet close to the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic, tweeted that Mahmonir Molaei Rad, Kian Pirfalak's mother, was the main instigator behind the deaths of two individuals during Kian's birthday celebration. Nournews stated: 'Today's crime in Izeh and the martyrdom of Captain Ghanbari, a victim of the oppressed police, was primarily facilitated by the mother of the late Kian Pirfalak and anti-revolutionary groups, and the widespread dissemination of news about the death of the assailant in hostile media shows that Islamic compassion does not apply to such individuals and they must be dealt with decisively.' Nournews quoted the deputy police chief of Khuzestan claiming that: 'Simultaneously with the call from adversaries on Kian Pirfalak's birthday, an individual with a known identity deliberately attacked the police with a Tiba vehicle at one of the public security stations, resulting in Captain Ghanbari's martyrdom. The police then opened fire, injuring the assailant, who later died in the hospital.' On the other hand, the 1500 Image account reported: 'We have inquired with some relatives of Pouya Molaei Rad and none have confirmed the Islamic Republic's narrative regarding the killing or running over of the government agent, rejecting such accounts.' This account also stated: 'A large number of people in Izeh and Kian Pirfalak's relatives have been arrested. No one knows the whereabouts of Kian's mother and uncle, and it is suspected that they may have also been arrested.' It is noteworthy that Mahmonir Molaei Rad's cousin was shot dead by security forces on Sunday, June 11, after a ceremony held for his 10th birthday at his grave in Izeh. News sources report that Pouya Molaei Rad was 21 years old and was killed in the village of Parchestan, Izeh, where Kian's body is buried. Meanwhile, the atmosphere in Izeh and its surrounding areas has been reported as security-heavy.
