Again Preventing the Presence of Families of Victims of the 1988 Executions at Khavaran Cemetery

Members of the "Families Seeking Justice for Khavaran" reported that government agents prevented the presence of the families of the deceased on Friday, April 26. Mansoureh Behkish, one of the members of these families, wrote in a post on her Instagram page: "Today, the entry of families and flowers to Khavaran was also prohibited; again, the agents stationed in Khavaran demanded national ID cards for entry permission and faced resistance from the families. Greetings to the resilient and active families of Khavaran who have been pursuing, steadfast, and tireless for over four decades to remember the names and paths of their loved ones and for seeking justice." This member of the "Families Seeking Justice for Khavaran" also wrote: "The criminals massacred our loved ones in fear, believing they would erase the quest for freedom and justice, but those beloved fighters became enduring seeds whose fragrance spread not only in the plains of Khavaran but throughout Iran. Government agents had previously prevented families from entering Khavaran on the last Friday of the year 1402. Khavaran Cemetery is located in the southeast of Tehran, along the Khavaran road. This site is next to several cemeteries related to religious minorities, where thousands of political and ideological prisoners executed in Tehran's prisons in the summer of 1988 were secretly buried in mass graves without names or identification.
