Ahmad Ghadiani: My Father's Arrest is a 'Display of Crumbling Power' of the Islamic Republic

The children of Abolfazl Ghadiani reported the arrest of this political activist opposing the leader of the Islamic Republic on Monday, October 1st. Some political activists view this action as a 'harsh revenge' by the Islamic Republic against internal critics over the death of Hassan Nasrallah. Ahmad Ghadiani, son of Abolfazl Ghadiani, confirmed his father's arrest on the social media platform X, stating: 'They stormed my father's house and took him away. I believe his arrest is a sign of resorting to the same old methods.' The son of Abolfazl Ghadiani added: 'They want to bring down the club that they received from a foreign government on the heads of internal critics to display an authority that has crumbled. They do not learn from the past and will go to the bottom of the valley.' Mehdi Mahmoudian, a journalist and civil activist, referred to the arrest of this political activist by 'Islamic Republic officials' as a sarcastic 'complex intelligence operation' and 'harsh revenge' for the death of Hassan Nasrallah. He wrote: 'Abolfazl Ghadiani, at about 80 years old, despite struggling with multiple illnesses and the fact that a few minutes delay in taking his medication could lead to irreparable damage, has never abandoned his beliefs and was prepared for imprisonment.' In recent months, Mr. Ghadiani had deemed the boycott of the government elections for the succession of Ebrahim Raisi as 'an effective action in protest against the ruling regime' and called for 'the change of the religious tyranny ruling over Iran.' This critic of the leader of the Islamic Republic stated: 'Ali Khamenei's record is dark in every respect, but with the massacre of Fall 1401 and the holding of parliamentary elections in Esfand 1402 in a manner more disgraceful than the presidential elections of 1400 and the parliamentary elections of 1398, he has sullied his record even further.' This staunch critic of the leader of the Islamic Republic, who has been arrested and imprisoned multiple times before, also previously stated that 'the fire of the Iranian people's movement is still burning and will flare up in the next waves of the movement, and sooner or later, Ali Khamenei, the power-hungry autocrat of Iran, will be pulled down from the throne of power and the corrupt system of the Islamic Republic will be dismantled.'
