Ahmad Rasoulzadeh, Voice Actor of 'Omar Mukhtar' and 'Padr Salaar', Passes Away

Ahmad Rasoulzadeh, a veteran artist in the field of dubbing, passed away at the age of 84. He voiced Anthony Quinn in the film 'Omar Mukhtar' and Mohammad Ali Keshavarz in the television series 'Padr Salaar'. The artist had been suffering from Parkinson's disease for several years and died on Friday morning, January 19, at Iranmehr Hospital in Tehran. Ahmad Rasoulzadeh was born in 1930 in Tabriz and began his professional dubbing career in 1953. He was the voice of Mohammad Ali Keshavarz in most of his works and also voiced Jamshid Mashayekhi in some films. He voiced Anthony Quinn in 'Omar Mukhtar' and Mohammad Ali Keshavarz in 'Padr Salaar'. In 1980, Rasoulzadeh also acted in the film 'Under Siege' directed by Akbar Sadeghi. Among his famous dubbings are the voice of 'Dai Jan Sarlang' in the series 'Dai Jan Napoleon' and the series 'Padr Salaar' featuring Mohammad Ali Keshavarz. He also dubbed for films like 'Muhammad: The Messenger of God' as Abu Talib and in the film 'Omar Mukhtar' as Anthony Quinn. This veteran dubber voiced actors such as Orson Welles in the films 'A Long Hot Summer' and 'A Man for All Seasons', Lionel Barrymore in 'Duel in the Sun', and Ralph Richardson in 'Doctor Zhivago'. Some of the Iranian films he voiced include 'The Last Horseman', 'The Last Image', 'Madian', and 'Rasul, Son of Abu al-Qasim'. This veteran dubber managed the dubbing of prominent films such as 'The Godfather', 'Ben-Hur', 'A Long Hot Summer', 'Duel in the Sun', 'Farewell to Arms', and 'The Great Escape'. On the other hand, after the passing of Ahmad Rasoulzadeh, the head of the Association of Voice Actors and Supervisors of the Cinema House expressed condolences and stated that the dubbing profession owes this artist a debt of gratitude. Reza Ashtiani-Pour, in an interview with ISNA, spoke about Mr. Rasoulzadeh, saying, 'His position in the dubbing profession is clear, as he was one of the founders of dubbing.' He noted that in recent years, Ahmad Rasoulzadeh had not been very active due to old age and illness, stating, 'When we lose such individuals, everyone mourns and feels sad, but during the lifetime of such people, nothing is done.'
