Aid Ceremony for Earthquake Victims Organized by the Iranian Sports Community to Be Held on Monday

The charity event organized by the Iranian sports community to assist the survivors of the tragic earthquake in Bam will take place on Monday, December 29, at the Jahangir Tofig Hall located on the southern side of Shahid Shiroudi Stadium in Tehran. According to IRNA news agency, the event will run from 1 PM to 8 PM and will see the participation of all champions, athletes, sports enthusiasts, coaches, and officials from Iran's sports sector, including managers and deputies from the Physical Education Organization, general managers of physical education, heads of federations, associations, and sports committees, along with many citizens of Tehran. During the event, a mobile blood donation unit will be stationed on-site to collect blood, while Red Crescent units will also be accepting cash and material donations from the public. Additionally, programs will be held to express sympathy for the afflicted people of Bam. Furthermore, according to the Iranian Wrestling Federation, on January 7, coinciding with the anniversary of the death of the legendary wrestler Gholamreza Takhti, units for collecting public donations for the earthquake victims will be set up next to his grave to receive financial and material contributions from fans and admirers of this champion and humanitarian figure. A 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck Bam on Friday morning, leaving thousands dead and tens of thousands injured.
