Alexei Navalny's Memoir Titled 'Patriot' to Be Published

Yulia Navalnaya, the wife of Alexei Navalny, the Russian opposition leader who died 'mysteriously' in prison, says that her husband wrote his memoirs titled 'Patriot' before his death, which will be published soon. According to Reuters, this book contains 'confidential' memories of this Putin opponent. Yulia Navalnaya stated on social media platform 'X' that she 'never imagined Alexei would write his memoirs,' adding, 'I thought we were in the 80s of life, and he was sitting by an open window behind his computer typing while I was talking to him about the grandchildren who would soon arrive. But everything went terribly and very, very unfairly.' According to Ms. Navalnaya, her husband penned his memoirs after he was poisoned in 2020. She added that the book will be published later this year in at least 11 different languages. Yulia Navalnaya remarked, 'Sharing his story not only honors his memory but also inspires others to defend what is right and never lose sight of the values that truly matter.' Penguin Publishing, one of the world's well-known publishers, described the book on social media 'X' as 'the complete story of Navalny's life and an exciting call to continue the work for which he sacrificed his life.' Since Alexei Navalny's death, Ms. Navalnaya has committed to continuing his legacy. She has met with U.S. President Joe Biden and several European officials and has spoken at the Munich Security Conference and the European Parliament. Meanwhile, the Kremlin has denied allegations of Vladimir Putin's involvement in Alexei Navalny's death but has refrained from commenting on the public reaction to his death and funeral. The death certificate of Alexei Navalny states that he died of natural causes at the age of 47. Alexei Navalny, the most prominent political opponent of Putin, died suspiciously on February 16 last year in IK-6 prison in the Yamalo-Nenets region, about 1900 kilometers northeast of Moscow, where he was serving a 30-year sentence. In response to Alexei Navalny's death, the U.S. President stated, 'Do not be mistaken. Putin is responsible for Navalny's death.'
