Ali Adinehzadeh, Father of Justice Seeker, Arrested

Ali Adinehzadeh, the father of justice seeker Abolfazl Adinehzadeh, a 16-year-old killed during the "Women, Life, Freedom" protests, has been arrested. Marzieh Adinehzadeh, the child of this justice seeker, posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, July 3, sharing an image of her father next to Abolfazl Adinehzadeh's grave, stating: "My father has been arrested and transferred to the prison in Quchan." Two days prior, Mr. Adinehzadeh had announced via an Instagram story that he had been summoned by the First Branch of the Revolutionary Court in Quchan. According to this summons, he was called to defend himself against charges of "spreading falsehoods with the intent to disturb public opinion" and "propaganda against the regime." This justice seeker had stated in his published story that he would appear in the Revolutionary Court of Quchan on Wednesday, July 3, to defend himself. Abolfazl Adinehzadeh, aged 16, was killed on Saturday, October 8, 2022, during protests outside Ferdowsi University in Mashhad, shot at close range by the Islamic Republic's security forces and struck by dozens of pellet bullets. During the nationwide "Women, Life, Freedom" protests, according to reports from human rights organizations, over five hundred people were killed by the Islamic Republic's security forces. The Islamic Republic has not only failed to hold accountable those responsible for this massacre but has also arrested and executed some other protesters on charges of killing its own security forces during these protests.
