Ali Karimi's Outburst Against Iranian Football Officials: When the Curtain Falls, Neither You Nor I Will Remain

Ali Karimi, former star of the Iranian national team and Asian Footballer of the Year, has accused football officials of financial corruption and called them to a televised debate. In a television interview, Karimi criticized Iranian football managers, stating: "In the oil team, they sent a player to the field and told him to take care of us. The player replied, 'I haven't received any money, how can I take care of you?' They said, 'Aren't you supposed to receive money?'" The former Bayern Munich player questioned what lasting contributions the head of the federation, Taj, has made, asking, "Has he bought the federation building or improved the national team's camp? Each camp costs $200,000. They should use the money from one foreign camp to improve the quality of the camp's field." He noted that despite consulting many insiders, no significant actions were taken and suggested they consult outsiders for a change. Karimi highlighted the transfer fee issue, mentioning that players have to pay 8 million tomans to leave the province, which discourages some players from continuing their careers. He emphasized that his criticism is not directed at ordinary employees who do their jobs well but at officials like Taj, Kafashian, and Saki, stating he is ready for a debate with them anytime. After the broadcast, the football federation issued a statement denying the allegations and calling them baseless, urging anyone with information on corruption to report it to the ethics committee. In response, Karimi posted a letter on Instagram to Taj and his loyal companions, asserting that he has experiences in football that they could not even dream of. He questioned why they haven't published contracts made during their tenure for transparency. He sees his statements as just the beginning of further revelations, recalling a poem that suggests when the truth comes out, neither side will remain. Karimi criticized the federation's conclusion that his words do not help football, stating that if they do not act, nothing will change.
