American Analyst: Biden Administration's Appeasement of the Islamic Republic Has Been Effective in Hamas Attacks on Israel; Kirby: We Have No Evidence

Michael Pregent, a senior Middle East analyst at the Hudson Institute in Washington, states that none of the "Islamic terrorist organizations" supported by Tehran could carry out sabotage in the Middle East without the approval of the Iranian regime and without the "appeasement of the Biden administration." In an exclusive interview with the Persian section of Voice of America, Pregent referred to a report from the Wall Street Journal on Sunday and the claim of "meetings between some commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Hamas leaders in Lebanon," saying, "We actually do not need documented evidence regarding giving the green light and preparing for such an attack, as we know that the capabilities of Hamas, Hezbollah, and Palestinian Islamic Jihad all stem from the policies of the Islamic Republic in Iran." He criticized the statements of the U.S. Secretary of State and the National Security Council spokesperson regarding the lack of evidence that Iran used the six billion dollars for financing Hamas's attacks on Israel, noting, "The Islamic Republic has no need to access this six billion dollars to support this attack because they have actually taken a guaranteed and final loan that they can spend domestically and finance terrorism from their other resources." This senior Middle East analyst at the Hudson Institute accused the U.S. government of attempting to cover up the destructive actions of the Islamic Republic and stated, "The current U.S. administration wants to obscure Iran's role in this attack because everyone knows that Hamas has the capability for rocket launching or kidnapping operations and does not need Iran to play a direct role in it." Michael Pregent called the residents of Gaza victims of the Islamic Republic's plans and Hamas's warmongering, saying, "Israel is closing the water and electricity supply to Gaza with the aim of isolating Hamas, while Hamas does not release civilians, neither the residents of Gaza nor those it has taken hostage; they keep all of them in the places that are supposed to be attacked so that if Israel attacks, these attacks will have casualties and ultimately drag Israel into a larger war involving Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hashd al-Shaabi in Iraq, and Fatemiyoun, and according to the Iranian regime's plan, involve all Arab countries and distance them from the truth of peace with Israel." Meanwhile, John Kirby, the White House Coordinator for Strategic Communications, stated on Monday that although the United States does not yet have information or evidence of the Islamic Republic's direct involvement in Hamas's attacks on Israel, "the Iranian regime has long supported Hamas and other terrorist networks across the region by training capabilities and providing resources, making them accomplices." U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken also responded on Sunday, October 8, to criticisms from some Republicans who claim that the funds related to the prisoner exchange agreement with the Islamic Republic were used for Hamas's attack on Israel, stating to ABC News, "To date, not a single dollar from that account has been spent, and regarding any expenditure, the U.S. Treasury Department closely regulates the spending of that money to ensure it is only used for food, medicine, and medical supplies. Therefore, those who promote this false narrative either have incorrect information or are providing false information, and in any case, it is wrong."
