American rapper Kendrick Lamar was named the most successful artist at the 2016 Grammy Awards, receiving five awards. Taylor Swift won the award for Best Album of the Year for her album '1989', while Ed Sheeran's 'Thinking Out Loud' was awarded Song of the Year. The Best Music Video award went to the clip 'Bad Blood' by Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar. The Best Rock Performance Grammy was awarded to 'I Don't Wanna Fight' by Alabama Shakes, and the Best Rock Album went to 'Drones' by Muse. The Best Rap Album award was given to 'To Pimp a Butterfly' by Kendrick Lamar, while the Best Country Album went to 'Traveller' by Chris Stapleton. The Best R&B Album was awarded to 'Black Messiah' by D'Angelo, and the documentary music nominated for an Oscar, 'Amy', won the Grammy for Best Music Film. Last year, British singer Sam Smith was the big winner with four Grammy awards. This year's ceremony featured performances from prominent artists such as Adele, Lady Gaga, Pitbull, Lionel Richie, and Taylor Swift. Johnny Depp was also a guest performer at the 2016 event.
