An Iranian F-7 Fighter Jet Crashed Near Naein, Isfahan

An Iranian F-7 fighter jet crashed on Wednesday morning, April 8, after taking off from the 8th Tactical Air Base in Isfahan, colliding with a mountain near Naein. According to the IRNA news agency, the aircraft was on a 'training mission' and crashed due to a 'technical failure' in the desert area of 'Zorki', located 50 kilometers northwest of Naein. The report states that both the pilot and co-pilot successfully ejected from the aircraft with parachutes and are unharmed. Furthermore, Fars news agency reported that the F-7 jet took off at 9:15 AM and encountered the accident at 9:58 AM. The aircraft crashed near the village of 'Kejan', approximately 40 kilometers from Naein. Naein is located 140 kilometers east of Isfahan. On April 6, a helicopter crash in Shiraz, which was transporting three injured patients from Khengh to Shiraz, resulted in 10 fatalities. In recent years, several Iranian military commanders and personnel have lost their lives due to military aircraft crashes. On January 11, 2016, a crash of an F-4 training fighter jet in Chabahar resulted in the deaths of the pilot and co-pilot. On July 15, 2014, another F-4 fighter jet crash near Estahban in Fars province led to the deaths of the pilot and co-pilot. In May 2013, an Iranian military aircraft crashed near Abdanan in Ilam province after colliding with a mountain, killing both pilots. On January 8, 2006, a Falcon aircraft crash near Urmia resulted in the death of Ahmad Kazemi, the commander of the IRGC Ground Forces. On December 6, 2005, a military transport aircraft carrying several journalists and military personnel crashed, resulting in 128 deaths and 132 injuries. In January 1994, Mansour Setareh Khas, the then commander of the Air Force, along with several senior Air Force officers, was killed in a plane crash near Isfahan airport.
