Andrea Bocelli's Letter to Hostage Released from Hamas; From Now On, I Will Sing with Enthusiasm, Faith, and New Energy

Andrea Bocelli, the renowned Italian opera singer, expressed his gratitude in a letter to Yafa Adar, who was recently freed from Hamas captivity. The 85-year-old Israeli stated in an interview with Channel 12 Israel that during her 49 days of captivity, she sang Bocelli's songs every morning, which gave her hope and helped her survive. After learning about this interview, Bocelli wrote in his letter to Adar: 'Dear Ms. Adar, I want to thank you for the feelings you have inspired in me. I never truly thought that my voice, this great gift I received from heaven, could one day become so important.' The famous Italian opera singer continued in his letter: 'No award, no encouragement, no honor is worth as much as your words. I will never forget these words, and thanks to you, from now on, I will sing with renewed enthusiasm, faith, and new energy.' According to Channel 12 Israel, when Ms. Adar's granddaughter read Bocelli's letter to her, Adar was very excited and said: 'This letter is more valuable to me than all the jewels in the world.' Yafa Adar, the 85-year-old Israeli grandmother, was released on December 7 during the first exchange of hostages between Hamas and Palestinian detainees. Hamas militants killed at least 1,200 people in a terrorist attack on October 7 in Israel and took around 240 hostages, including children, women, and the elderly. Israel began air, sea, and ground attacks on Gaza, calling for the eradication of Hamas. The United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Japan, Israel, and several other countries have listed Hamas as a terrorist organization. The International Committee of the Red Cross is at the center of the hostage and prisoner exchanges between Israel and Hamas. Ongoing consultations are taking place to present a draft resolution to the Security Council for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. Intensified Israeli attacks on Hamas positions continue; eyes are turned to New York for the possible approval of a ceasefire. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that the war will not stop until the hostages are freed and Hamas is destroyed. The Committee to Protect Journalists reported that the Gaza war has been the most dangerous war in history for journalists. The United Nations warned about the risk of 'malnutrition' in Gaza, with one in four people being hungry.
