Anisha Asadollahi's Family Visit Ban Extended to Three Months

According to the Harana news agency, Anisha Asadollahi, a labor activist imprisoned in Evin Prison, has been deprived of visits with her family for the past three months. The report from the Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran states that Ms. Asadollahi faced this ban after protesting the death sentences issued for Sharifeh Mohammadi, a labor activist, and Pakhshan Aziz, a civil activist. This labor activist has also been denied visits with her lawyer since July of this year. According to the report, Anisha Asadollahi had previously been deprived of phone contact in protest against the execution of Reza Rasayi. She and her husband, Keyvan Mohtadi, were arrested on May 8, 2022, along with several other labor activists and teachers while attempting to meet with Cecile Couler and Jacques Paris, a French couple and French union activist. These two French citizens, who were traveling to Iran for vacation, were also arrested at that time, and Mohammad Jafar Montazeri, the former Attorney General of the Islamic Republic, accused them of 'espionage' in June 2022. The judiciary of the Islamic Republic announced in June of this year the appellate court's ruling regarding Anisha Asadollahi and her husband Keyvan Mohtadi, issuing a final sentence of 'three years and seven months in prison' to them. Following this, Mr. Mohtadi was released from Evin Prison on September 2, along with Reza Shahabi and Hassan Saidi, two members of the Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company Workers' Union. Hossein Taj, the lawyer for these three labor activists, told the Ensaf News website that Hassan Saidi, Keyvan Mohtadi, and Reza Shahabi 'were granted amnesty in 2021 and will be released with a reduced sentence.' Rafiq Salimi, a imprisoned labor activist, is also deprived of access to treatment and leave. The Tehran Bus Company Workers' Union has called for the release of Davood Razavi, Ebrahim Madadi, and political prisoners.
