Another IRGC Commander Killed in Iraq

Media in Iran report the killing of another commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) during clashes with Islamic State forces in Iraq. According to a report on Saturday, June 6, in Jam-e Jam Online, Shaban Nasiri, an IRGC commander, was killed on Friday during a confrontation with ISIS forces while attempting to retake the city of Mosul. As noted by the IRNA news agency, this IRGC commander had a 'long history' of presence in Syria as well.
