Another Party in Tehran Ends with Arrests of Attendees

Fars News Agency and some conservative websites have reported the arrest of 25 individuals, including an actor and a writer of comedy programs, at a party. This news agency stated on its Twitter account that an actor and writer identified by the initials 'A.J.' was also arrested at this party. According to the news agency affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, law enforcement officers raided the event in Tehran with a 'judicial order' and proceeded to arrest the participants. The report also mentioned that 'alcoholic beverages' were discovered and confiscated from the venue. The website 'Asr Khabar' reported that this event took place on Thursday evening (December 23) at the home of the arrested actor and writer. This website noted that the arrested actor has a history of collaboration with Rambod Javan and Mehran Modiri. The website 'Dolat Bahar,' close to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, also reported that this actor and writer has 'always mocked Dr. Ahmadinejad and the former government with derogatory phrases.' The sensitivity of the security institutions of the Islamic Republic to the private lives of actors and athletes in Iran has increased following their growing presence on social media, leading to a rise in confrontations with them. For years, numerous reports have emerged in Iran about the arrest of actors and athletes at private parties and celebrations. In May of this year, the 'Mizan' news agency, affiliated with the judiciary, reported the arrest of seven prominent actors at a 'night party.' In the same month, Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi, the public and revolutionary prosecutor of Tehran, warned athletes and artists against participating in what he called 'vulgar and illegal gatherings.' Gholamhossein Esmaili, the head of the Tehran judiciary, also stated that 'cultural monitoring' of the country's athletes and artists should be increased and suggested that the crime prevention department of the judiciary should get involved in this area. In this context, the arrest of 60 boys and girls at a 'night party' in Sarakhsar Tehran, the arrest of 20 young girls and boys at a 'night party' in Shiraz, the arrest of 34 women and men at a 'night party' in Kerman, the police in Rasht arresting 30 people at a 'mixed celebration,' and the arrest of 23 girls and boys in connection with a 'mixed party' in Dezful have all been reported.
