Another Protester’s Case Sent to 'Execution Branch'; Mojahid Korkori at 'Risk of Execution'

A human rights source reported that the case of Mojahid Korkori, a protester sentenced to death, has been sent to the execution branch, warning that he is at 'risk of execution' at any moment. The legal advisory group 'Dadban' announced in an exclusive report on Sunday, January 1, that the case of Abbas Korkori, a citizen from Izeh known as 'Mojahid Korkori', has been forwarded for execution. This human rights source described Korkori's arrest as part of 'a case fabrication' against several citizens and emphasized: 'The risk of execution threatens his life at any moment.' Negar Korkori, Mojahid's sister, stated that the death sentence for her brother has been confirmed by the Supreme Court of the Islamic Republic. Mojahid Korkori, a citizen from Izeh, has been accused by Iranian authorities of being involved in the shooting on November 25, 2022, against citizens during nationwide protests; an allegation repeatedly denied by the victims of that incident, including the family of Kian Pirfalak. Korkori has been sentenced to death on charges of 'moharebeh and corruption on earth', with authorities attributing 'disturbance of public order and causing significant bodily harm resulting in the deaths of seven people including Kian Pirfalak, causing damage to public and private property, forming opposition groups, and membership in them through armed uprising against the Islamic Republic' to this imprisoned protester. Meanwhile, Mojahid's sister stated in August that she personally participated in the protests on the day Kian Pirfalak was killed and that her brother was not present there. The legal advisory group 'Dadban' listed issues such as 'enforced disappearance, torture, coercion to confess against oneself, deprivation of fair trial, and deprivation of independent and chosen counsel' as violations of Mojahid Korkori's rights during detention and urged citizens to be his voice. Previously, Zeinab Molaei Rad, Kian Pirfalak's mother, reacted to the 'accusations' made by judicial authorities against individuals like Abbas (Mojahid) Korkori, Bahman Bahmani, Hossein, and Mahmoud, emphasizing: 'As Kian's mother, I will never accept anyone from my fellow citizens being introduced as a murderer.' Additionally, Meysam Pirfalak, Kian's father, who was severely injured in that incident, insisted: 'We saw with our own eyes that security forces shot at us and Kian.'
