Arrest of 4 Suspects in Sexual Assault of an Iranian Political Refugee in Germany Following Disclosure of 'Terrorist Plans' by the Islamic Republic

German police have identified and arrested four suspects in the sexual assault case of a 30-year-old Iranian political refugee. Reports indicate that two other suspects are still at large. According to a report from a Voice of America correspondent in Hanover, witnesses contacted the police in Eiselon around 11 PM on Sunday, September 9, reporting an incident of 'sexual violence.' The police stated that a 30-year-old Iranian political refugee was sexually assaulted by six men in an abandoned brewery. The police used a helicopter to apprehend four suspects who had hidden in the forests surrounding the city. The arrested suspects are aged between 24 and 46, and two others are currently fugitives. It is reported that these individuals are from Denmark and the Netherlands with Iranian roots. Michael Burgraf, the chief prosecutor of Eiselon, stated that 'investigations have shown that the main objective of this crime was sexual humiliation, but since the victim is a political refugee and an opponent of the Iranian government, there is also the possibility that the assault was politically motivated.' This judicial official also mentioned that the suspects' phones are being examined to determine any potential connections between them. Mr. Burgraf also indicated that investigations are underway to ascertain whether the suspects have traveled to Iran. According to the city's prosecutor's office, determining what specific political motives may exist is an investigation that should be conducted by the German government's security service. In recent days, German and French media reported on 'terrorist plans' by the Islamic Republic of Iran to attack Jewish sites and institutions in these two European countries, as well as to deal with opponents of the Iranian government. Additionally, a confidential document states that the Islamic Republic employs individuals with a history of crime to assassinate Israelis, Jews, and Iranian opponents who have sought refuge in Europe.
