Axios reported that senior military officials from Israel, during their visit to Washington, are outlining their military strategy for continuing the war in Gaza and their plans for arresting or killing Hamas leaders to American officials. According to the report, discussions about the future of the region after the war are also among the topics discussed between Israeli and American officials. Israeli sources reported that the head of the strategic branch of the Israel Defense Forces, along with the deputy commander of the Israeli Air Force, met with senior Pentagon and U.S. military officials on Monday to discuss the war. These meetings come as President Joe Biden is pressuring to end Israel's attacks on Gaza within weeks. However, Israeli officials state that the intensity of their ground attacks will soon decrease and more humanitarian aid will reach Gaza. President Biden stated on Monday night during remarks marking the fifth night of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah that Israel is in a 'difficult position' following the Hamas attack and the subsequent war in Gaza.
