As American Fighter Jets Arrive in the Middle East, CENTCOM Commander Visits Israel

With the deployment of U.S. strategic F-35 fighter jets to the Middle East, General Michael Eric Kurilla, the commander of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), visited Israel and discussed with Yoav Gallant, Israel's Minister of Defense, and other military leaders of the country. The publication 'Al-Monitor' reported that despite recent disagreements between the United States and Israel over controversial laws and judicial reforms, this visit indicates that 'strategic military cooperation' between the U.S. and Israel should be examined separately from Israel's 'domestic politics.' At the same time, CENTCOM shared on its official Twitter account an image of two F-35 strategic fighter jets, stating that these aircraft belonging to the U.S. military have arrived in the CENTCOM area of responsibility. During the meeting between General Michael Eric Kurilla and Yoav Gallant, security challenges in the region, particularly the Islamic Republic's terrorist activities and its support for proxy groups in Syria and Lebanon, were discussed. While the United States continues to express concern over Israel's recent legal changes, both countries emphasize their commitment to 'strategic security.' High-ranking military officials also addressed the escalation of Hezbollah's actions at the Lebanese border and the unrest in the West Bank. Overall, this meeting underscores the strategic cooperation between the U.S. and Israel in addressing regional threats, including the Islamic Republic's nuclear program and Hezbollah's terrorist activities. Earlier, Voice of America reported, citing the Pentagon, that in addition to sending F-35 and F-16 fighter jets and missile-guided destroyers, Marine forces are being deployed to the CENTCOM area of responsibility, which includes Iran. The Pentagon stated that the aim of this action is to counter the Islamic Republic's movements in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, which disrupts the free flow of shipping. CENTCOM had previously stated on July 20 that the deployed forces include an amphibious assault ship and a support vessel with the capability to land on the deck of the U.S. Navy, along with their personnel and related equipment. American fighter jets have arrived in the CENTCOM area; the goal: to counter the Islamic Republic's destructive actions. The next step for the Pentagon in countering the threats from the Islamic Republic is the deployment of Marines to the CENTCOM area. A senior Pentagon official stated that China, Russia, and Iran remain a focus for CENTCOM. CENTCOM reported that the leader of ISIS in eastern Syria was killed in a drone strike. The U.S. Navy 'prevented the seizure' of two ships by the Islamic Republic. CENTCOM stated that the collusion between Russia and Iran to remove the U.S. from the skies over the Middle East has been unsuccessful.
