At least 11 Israelis injured due to Hezbollah rocket fire in the city of Tyre

On Saturday, November 12, the Israeli Medical Emergency Agency announced that rocket fire from Hezbollah in Lebanon resulted in the injury of 11 individuals in the Arab-populated city of 'Tyre' in central Israel. However, a Persian-language account attributed to the Israeli Foreign Ministry reported that 19 people were injured as a result of this attack, along with images from the site of the rocket impact showing hundreds of Israeli citizens gathered around it. A Persian-language account attributed to the Israeli army published images of Israeli fighter jets attacking the Hezbollah launcher that had fired rockets towards Tyre. The ongoing rocket fire from Hezbollah towards Israel on Saturday triggered warning sirens in northern regions of the country. The Israeli army announced that on Friday, two senior Hezbollah members named Moein Moussa Azaldin, the commander of the coastal regional unit, and Hassan Majid Diab, the commander of the artillery section of that unit, were eliminated in the city of Tyre, Lebanon. According to the Israeli army's statement, Diab was responsible for firing over 400 rockets towards Israel in the past month, including a deadly rocket on Thursday that hit Kiryat near Haifa Bay, resulting in the deaths of a mother and child. Hezbollah Lebanon unilaterally began its rocket and drone attacks on northern Israel the day after the terrorist attack on October 7, 2023. In response, Israel has conducted severe attacks against this group’s positions in Lebanon and Syria, killing hundreds of members of this Iran-backed group, including leaders and senior military commanders such as Hassan Nasrallah, Fawad Shakir, Ibrahim Aqil, and Hashem Safi al-Din. Simultaneously with heavy airstrikes on Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, the southern suburbs of Beirut, and the Bekaa Valley, Israel has deployed ground forces to parts of southern Lebanon. Several countries, including the United States, Israel, Germany, Serbia, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, and Australia, have recognized Hezbollah as a terrorist organization. The designation of Hezbollah as a terrorist organization means that there is no distinction made between its political and military branches, labeling both as terrorist entities. Hundreds of thousands have fled from Lebanon to Syria due to Israeli attacks. The attacks on Hezbollah and Hamas coincide with U.S. efforts for a ceasefire. The U.S. Secretary of State announced an understanding between Israel and Lebanon for the implementation of Resolution 1701. Netanyahu stated that an agreement with Hezbollah is conditional on border security and the removal of threats from Lebanon. Hezbollah's rocket fire into northern Israel has left five dead. Israel stated that it would ensure that Naeem Qassem soon joins 'the path of Nasrallah.' Israel has requested residents in the Bekaa Valley to evacuate parts of the area.
