At least 11 killed in shooting at Pittsburgh synagogue in the U.S.

A shooting at the "Tree of Life" synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, left at least 11 dead while three police officers were also shot. Initial reports indicated that eight people had been killed. The Pennsylvania State Police announced on Saturday via Twitter that the shooter has been arrested. Although the suspect's name has not yet been released, local media reports indicate that he is a white male. According to police officials, the man entered the synagogue and shouted that "all Jews must die." Following this, police forces arrived at the scene and engaged in a shootout with the suspect, resulting in the arrest of the shooter. However, three police officers were also shot during this exchange. The Tree of Life synagogue is located in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh, just ten minutes from downtown. According to Jeff Finkelstein, CEO of the Jewish Federation of Pittsburgh, there were approximately 60 to 100 people present in the synagogue at the time of the shooting. The number of injured in this incident has not yet been reported. Meanwhile, Donald Trump, the President of the United States, tweeted about his follow-up actions regarding the incident. He emphasized that residents of the Squirrel Hill neighborhood should remain safe. The Pittsburgh police also advised residents of the area to stay indoors and take shelter. Additionally, Tom Wolf, the Governor of Pennsylvania, tweeted that officials are working to uncover more details about the incident. He also urged residents to stay away from the scene. In another series of tweets, he referred to the shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue as a "tragedy" and stressed that such "senseless violence" is contrary to the nature of Americans, but dangerous firearms have put American citizens at risk.
