At least 14 killed in two suicide attacks inside Israel

At least 14 people were killed in two suicide attacks inside Israel. Israeli police report that a bomber killed 11 people by detonating himself in a restaurant in Jerusalem late on Saturday. The bomber was also killed. At least 50 others were injured in the incident, which occurred in a restaurant located 100 meters from the office of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. In the city of Netanya, three Israelis were killed by gunfire from two armed Palestinian men, who were subsequently killed by Israeli police. The Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade, a faction of the Fatah movement led by Yasser Arafat, claimed responsibility for both attacks. The Palestinian militant group Hamas also took responsibility for the Jerusalem bombing. General Zinni had previously attempted to broker a ceasefire between the two sides twice without success. Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers began withdrawing from the Palestinian refugee camp in Tulkarem. During a three-day Israeli military operation in Tulkarem, at least 15 Palestinians were killed. Palestinian security officials claim that the Israeli army arrested at least 150 Palestinian men in Tulkarem and took them away. The Israeli army stated that 10 homemade Qassam rockets were discovered and seized from within the camp. Palestinian militant groups had previously caused damage and injuries by firing several Qassam rockets into Israel.
