At least five killed in armed attack on Turkish aerospace company

The armed attack on Turkey's aerospace and defense company (TUSAS) ended with five dead and 22 injured. Turkish government officials reported on Wednesday, October 25, that two of the attackers were killed and that the condition of three of the injured from this attack is critical. According to Turkish media reports, three attackers killed a taxi driver, stole his vehicle, and approached this strategic military industry company in Ankara. One of the attackers created an opportunity for the other two to enter the building by detonating an explosive at the entrance of the aerospace and defense company, leading to a confrontation inside the building. Apart from the taxi driver, three employees of TUSAS were killed in the confrontation, and 14 others were injured. Surveillance footage showed at least three armed attackers, one of whom was a woman, shooting before the explosion at the company's entrance. TUSAS is involved in the design and production of drones, military and civilian aircraft, and other defense products. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was informed of the terrorist incident during a meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the BRICS summit and condemned it strongly. Turkish media reported that shortly after the meeting, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg contacted President Erdogan, who also condemned the terrorist incident strongly.
