Axios: The Islamic Republic Prepares for an Attack on Israel in the Coming Days

Axios news agency reported on Thursday, citing two anonymous Israeli sources, that the Islamic Republic is preparing for an attack on Israel in the coming days, likely through Iraq. Axios referenced its sources, indicating that the timing of this potential attack is in the coming days and possibly before the U.S. presidential elections, which are scheduled for Tuesday, November 15. According to the report, a large number of drones and ballistic missiles will be launched from Iraqi territory towards Israel in the potential future attack. Axios added that the Islamic Republic may carry out this attack through its proxy militias in Iraq to avoid an Israeli strike on strategic targets within Iranian territory. The Israeli army announced on Saturday morning, November 5, coinciding with sunrise in Iran, that its 'precise and targeted' strikes on military targets of the Islamic Republic in various regions of Iran had concluded, and Israeli aircraft successfully returned to their bases. These strikes were in response to the launch of over 180 ballistic missiles towards Israel by the Iranian government on October 1. Additionally, the Islamic Republic had launched 320 projectiles, including suicide drones and ballistic and cruise missiles, towards Israel on April 14. Iranian officials, while trying to downplay the November 5 attacks by Israel, stated that they would not leave it unanswered. In contrast, Israeli officials have warned that the country will respond much more severely to any further direct attacks from the Islamic Republic.
