Bahareh Hedayat, a political prisoner, posted on her Instagram account on Tuesday, April 17, stating: "Despite being diagnosed with cancer, I am forced to report to prison." She mentioned that "I must introduce myself to Evin Prison on Wednesday to continue my 4-year sentence," emphasizing: "It does not matter where my body is; my heart and soul are with you, noble and fighting people of Iran, alongside my brave sisters in the streets of my country, and shoulder to shoulder with my brothers whose hearts beat for freedom." Bahareh Hedayat added: "Today, my lawyer, Ms. Zahra Minoui, was informed that my request for a stay of my sentence has been denied, and the relevant authorities believe that my treatment can continue in prison, despite the fact that, according to my oncologist and treating doctors, due to potential risks and the need for ongoing treatment and upcoming surgeries, I should be under medical supervision outside of prison." This civil rights activist noted: "My heart and soul are with the inhabitants of this land who live with decades of war at their doorstep and on their tables, without the sound of missiles and the drone buzz of this daily war attracting the attention of the high-ranking officials across the waters, as it has these days."
