Beating of a Political Prisoner in Evin's Ward 209; Hossein Razagh: How well you confirm the atrocities you bring upon the people's children

Hossein Razagh, a political activist currently imprisoned in Evin, has filed a complaint against several security and judicial officials for his beating in Ward 209 of the prison, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Intelligence. In a note published on social media, Razagh wrote that after being beaten, security personnel in Ward 209 shackled his hands and feet from behind in a painful manner and kept him in a position face down for several hours in the outdoor area of the detention center. According to Razagh, the purpose of this action was to 'punish' him. He stated that during this time, security agents would return to the outdoor area, verbally abuse him, and tighten his chains to inflict more pressure on him. In part of his note, he wrote: 'After a few minutes, as the intensity of the beating increased, while I was face down, they handcuffed my hands from behind and shackled my feet in a way that the shackles were crossed and passed through the center of the handcuffs, and while my hands and feet were almost touching from behind, they tightened them further, and the one who was their senior said: 'You will stay here like this until you admit your mistake, so you understand that the Ministry of Intelligence is not a place for shouting and protesting.' Then they left me in the cold of mid-October in Evin's open-air yard without a roof and locked the door.' At the end of his note, after detailing this incident, he wrote: 'After all that pain, I only had a bitter smile for them, confirming how well you bring calamities upon the children of the people.' Razagh has been transferred multiple times to the security detention center of the Ministry of Intelligence during his 19 months in Evin prison due to his activities. He claims that during one of these transfers, he was severely beaten by intelligence officers. Razagh has been arrested and imprisoned several times due to his activities, with charges including 'collusion and conspiracy against national security' and 'propaganda against the regime.'
