Beirut Airport Displays Anti-Hezbollah Message After Hacking

As clashes between the Iran-backed Hezbollah group in Lebanon and the Israeli army escalate along the borders, the information displayed on the screens of Beirut's international airport was replaced on Sunday with a message accusing Hezbollah of putting Lebanon at risk of an all-out war with Israel. According to the Associated Press, the message appeared on the airport screens stating that Beirut International Airport is not Hezbollah's or Iran's airport, and it warned Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, that 'if you drag Lebanon into a war for which you bear responsibility and consequences, you will have no supporters left.' Since October 8, a day after the war between the Palestinian group Hamas and the Israeli army began in Gaza, Hezbollah has attacked Israeli military bases and positions near the country's northern border with Lebanon, and Israel has responded by targeting the positions of this Iran-backed militia. Tensions between Hezbollah and Israel intensified last week following the killing of Saleh al-Arouri, the deputy leader of Hamas, in an Israeli attack in Beirut. On Saturday, Hezbollah announced the launch of 62 rockets towards an Israeli reconnaissance base in Mount Meron as an 'initial response' to al-Arouri's killing. The Israeli army on Sunday announced that Hezbollah targeted an air traffic control base in northern Israel, warning of the occurrence of 'another war' with this group. On Saturday, Hassan Nasrallah, in a speech, rejected some criticisms that Hezbollah is seeking an all-out war with Israel, but stated that if Israel starts a war, Hezbollah is preparing for a 'limitless' war. Tensions between Israel and Hezbollah continue as U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell travel to the region to find ways to prevent the escalation of the war between Israel and Hamas.
