CNN states that this 90-minute debate will include two commercial breaks, during which campaign staff from both candidates will not be allowed to interact with Biden and Trump. According to the report, both campaign teams agreed to appear at two uniform podiums, with their positions determined by a coin toss. CNN added that during the debate, the microphone will only be on for the candidate who has the floor to speak. Under these rules, candidates are not allowed to bring any pre-prepared notes or written materials on stage, and they will only be provided with a pen, paper, and a bottle of water.
