Biden at the General Assembly: We must ensure that the Islamic Republic never acquires nuclear weapons

Joe Biden, the President of the United States, emphasized in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, October 3, that progress towards peace in the Middle East would position the world stronger to confront the 'ongoing threat' posed by the Islamic Republic of Iran. Mr. Biden, speaking for the fourth and final time as President at the General Assembly, stressed the necessity of 'preventing oxygen from reaching the Islamic Republic's terrorist proxies,' stating, 'We must ensure that the Iranian government never and under no circumstances will acquire nuclear weapons.' Regarding the war in Gaza, he said: 'Now is the time for both sides to finalize conditions and bring the hostages home while ensuring the security of Israel and Gaza, regardless of Hamas's control over the region.' Joe Biden, referring to the recent clashes between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, emphasized that 'full-scale war benefits no one.' According to Reuters, the U.S. President stated that 'a diplomatic solution between Israel and Hezbollah is still possible.' He stressed that 'we are working to create more peace and stability in the Middle East.' In another part of his speech regarding the war between Russia and Ukraine, he said: 'The good news is that Putin's war has failed. He intended to destroy Ukraine, but Ukraine is still free,' adding that the world must choose whether to continue supporting Ukraine. The U.S. President continued, 'We cannot get tired, we cannot look away, and we will not stop supporting Ukraine until it prevails with a just and lasting peace.' The war in Sudan was also among the issues the U.S. President addressed, stating: 'The world must stop arming the generals.' He said that the generals in Sudan should be told to 'stop the disintegration of your country and end the war right now.' Pressure from Congress lawmakers on the Biden administration to implement the 'Mahsa Law' and effectively enforce sanctions is increasing amid the rising risk of regional war: The Pentagon announced the deployment of more military forces to the Middle East. Biden stated that the U.S. will do 'whatever it can' to prevent a widespread war in the Middle East. The arrival of the Ukrainian President in the U.S.; Zelensky is seeking a 'truly just peace' with Russia. Biden met with leaders from Australia, Japan, and India: China's increasing militarization is an attempt to test the region.
