Biden: The Death of Nasrallah Represents Justice for His Numerous Victims

Joe Biden, the President of the United States, issued a statement regarding the killing of Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, stating: "Hassan Nasrallah and Hezbollah, the terrorist group under his command, have been responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Americans over four decades of a reign of terror. His death following an Israeli airstrike is seen as justice for his countless victims, including thousands of Americans, Israelis, and Lebanese civilians." The U.S. President continued in his statement: "The attack that resulted in Nasrallah's death is part of broader conflicts that arose after the massacre committed by Hamas on October 7, 2023. The day after this massacre, Nasrallah made a fateful decision to support Hamas by opening what he called the 'Northern Front' against Israel." Joe Biden emphasized: "The U.S. fully supports Israel's right to defend itself against Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis, and any other terrorist group supported by the Islamic Republic of Iran." The U.S. President added: "Yesterday, I directed the Secretary of Defense to strengthen the defensive positions of U.S. military forces in the Middle East to prevent aggression and reduce the risk of a broader regional war." The statement further noted: "Our ultimate goal is to reduce the current conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon through diplomatic means. Regarding Gaza, we are seeking an agreement for a ceasefire supported by the UN Security Council and the release of hostages. In Lebanon, we are negotiating for an agreement on the safe return of Israeli residents and those in southern Lebanon to their homes." Joe Biden stated: "It is time for these agreements to come to fruition, to eliminate threats against Israel, and to achieve greater stability in the Middle East in a broader sense." After the Israeli army announced on Saturday, October 7, that Hassan Nasrallah had been killed in an Israeli attack on the southern suburbs of Beirut, Hezbollah also confirmed the death of its secretary-general in these attacks. Hassan Nasrallah was the third secretary-general of Hezbollah, following Subhi al-Tufayli and Abbas Musawi, and was one of the most loyal commanders of the Islamic Republic's proxy forces to Ali Khamenei. In one of his most famous speeches to the people of Iran and the world, he stated: "I openly say to the world, the budget and expenses for food, weapons, and missiles of Hezbollah come from the Islamic Republic of Iran, and no sanctions will affect this process." The Israeli army is on alert for a broader conflict. The New York Times reported that Israel had known Nasrallah's location months before the attack. Hezbollah confirmed Nasrallah's death. France stated that its intelligence assessment indicated Nasrallah's death. Reuters reported that Khamenei has been moved to a 'safe location.' Netanyahu stated: 'Our enemies thought we were like a spider's web, but we have steel tendons.' Biden issued a readiness order to U.S. forces following Israel's heavy attack on Hezbollah positions. The founder of Hezbollah called for the trial and punishment of the leader of the Islamic Republic.
