According to Voice of America, the U.S. President's visit to Europe was also intended to reassure Europe and demonstrate unwavering support for NATO. Biden played a key role in NATO's commitment to Finland and the agreement for Sweden to join NATO, strengthening this alliance. At the NATO summit in Lithuania, the U.S. President emphasized NATO's determination to support Ukraine against the Russian invasion and assist the country in its path toward NATO membership. Simultaneously, the G7 presented a framework to ensure security and economic support for Ukraine until the end of the conflict and the implementation of reforms. According to the report, Biden also stated that Putin has 'already lost' the war in Ukraine due to 'resource limitations' and 'lack of economic or political justification.' Regarding the future of the Ukraine war, Biden said, 'I cannot predict exactly what will happen, but I hope Ukraine makes significant progress in its offensive to create a basis for negotiation.' Earlier, Voice of America reported that on Thursday, July 13, Biden described the NATO summit as 'historic' due to the 'long-term commitment of members' to 'continue aiding' Ukraine during a meeting with leaders of Northern European countries in Helsinki, Finland. Finland's participation in the recent NATO summit, as the newest member of this Western defense alliance, was welcomed by members, and the last obstacle to Sweden's membership was removed.
